The artist's comments regarding creation of the Butterfly Mandala

A miracle occurred with the creation of this mandala. A difficult relationship created conflict for me that I had not been able to resolve. I had started working on this mandala two years ago in an effort to heal this conflict, and had made some progress with the healing, but had put the image aside.

Recently, I was drawn to finish the image, not realizing the unfinished conflict was calling me. Then the miracle occurred. The act of reconnecting with Spirit guidance and letting Spirit use my hand as an instrument changed my heart. Instead of focusing on healing the conflict, I found myself simply wanted to create something beautiful for the other person. Before my eyes the most beautiful image emerged. As the image progressed the miracle extended, and I was aware that I no longer felt a grudge toward the other person. In addition, I began to realize how wrong I had been, and acknowledged ownership for my part in the rift. By the time the mandala was finished, the complete healing of the relationship had occurred and it was as if there had been no offense at all. There was literally nothing to forgive.

Even as I was completing this image, the realization of my responsibility and ensuing disappearance of blame and offense rippled outward to other difficult relationships in my life and worked its miracle there as well. When you hold the positive intention of giving a person something beautiful from your heart, it is impossible to maintain an opposing emotion.
